An Eco-Friendly event

The organizers of the International Forum on Integrated Water Management are proud to announce that this event is eco-friendly!

Practicable action to reduce waste and overall energy consumption in all aspects of the organization is undertaken since day 1.

All participants of the Forum will be asked to minimize waste and help us reach our zero carbon and zero waste objectives.

These are some of the actions already put into place:

Ecological aspect

• Use of phone and email as principal communication channels
• Phone interviews instead of in-person limit travelling
• All documents printed on both sides of paper
• Paper, plastic, glass and metal are recycled
• A Zero-carbon strategy including use of mass transit, car-pooling and purchase of local products

Socio-economic aspects

• Reduced participation costs for students and community organizations
• Volunteering for free entrance : to give everyone a chance to participate in our Forum
• Efforts are made to invite developing countries representatives
• Fair-trade products will be given first priority

We will put in place more measures from the événement écoresponsable website (French) and from the "guide des événements écoresponsables de l'UQAC" (French) throughout the organization of the Forum
